Outcomes

To access this courses under the Career Start program in Queensland, you must meet the eligibility requirements of either:
General Training Pathway Eligibility
- be aged 15 years or older;
- not be a school student;
- permanently reside in Queensland;
- be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
- Not already hold a Certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (Qualifications completed while at school and foundation skills qualifications do not count)
- Not be enrolled in another qualification (including on hold or deferred), whether DTET-funded or not (Foundation skills qualifications do not count)
Employment Based Pathway Eligibility
Employment based pathways require the individual to be employed as an apprentice/ trainee.
To be eligible to receive government subsidised training, the apprentice or trainee must:
- have entered into a Contract (training contract) for a qualification that is funded by DTET and be registered on the DTET’s training database;
- if from overseas, have a visa allowing them to work in Australia; and
- not have already completed two apprenticeship/traineeship qualifications (including SATs) within the last 10 years
To ensure a successful and effective learning experience, please review the following pre-requisites before submitting an application for enrolment:
- Eligibility: Candidates must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or hold an appropriate visa allowing them to undertake education. Please note: Ampd Academy is not a CRICOS provider and cannot enroll students on an international student visa.
- Technology & Preparation: You’ll need a smart device or computer with internet access to complete online and pre-course activities — including a quick quiz to help us confirm your enrolment and check if any support is needed before training begins.
Students complete 13 units.

Training can be delivered face-to-face, online self-paced, or as a blend of both, depending on your location and needs.
As long as we have a trainer nearby, we’ll work with you and your employer to complete the enrolment and check whether any support is needed before training begins.
You’ll need access to a smart device or computer with internet to complete your online and pre-course activities. Your application includes a short quiz to help confirm your enrolment and identify any support you may need before training begins.
We’re able to deliver outside the approved regions listed below. Government funding isn’t available in those areas, so the full course fee applies — get in touch and we’ll talk through the options.

Our funded courses require a student co-contribution fee. The amount depends on the course, delivery mode, and whether you’re eligible for a concessional rate. In some cases, employers or third parties may cover this contribution, but training providers cannot waive it.

Concessional student status applies when the student falls into one of the following categories:
- Holds a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds such a card and is named on the card;
- Holds an official form issued under Commonwealth law confirming that they, their partner, or the person of whom they are a dependant is entitled to concessions under a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card;
- Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
- Has a disability;
- Is an adult prisoner.
