To ensure a successful and effective learning experience, please review the following pre-requisites before submitting an application for enrolment in the Competitive Strokes Fundamentals course. These requirements apply to all students, regardless of funding:
- Age: While there is no minimum age to enrol in and complete this course, aquatic industry guidelines recommend staff be at least 16 years of age.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or hold an appropriate visa allowing them to undertake education. Please note: Ampd Academy is not a CRICOS provider and cannot enroll students on an international student visa.
- Placement: This course includes a placement component, you must obtain a current Working with Children Check (Bluecard/WCCC). While this is not required at the time of enrolment, it must be obtained before commencing any industry placement.
- Technology & Preparation: You’ll need a smart device or computer with internet access to complete online and pre-course activities — including a quick quiz to help us confirm your enrolment and check if any support is needed before training begins.
- Physical Fitness: Participants must have a reasonable level of physical fitness and swimming proficiency. This is essential for safely and effectively performing the necessary aquatic skills
