Ampd Academy has partnered with the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) to offer participants a fresh course with standard knowledge and skills to become a teacher of swimming and water safety and professionally deliver swimming and water safety programs and services to a diverse range of people who use aquatic environments.
Units of Competency:
- SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues‚
- SISCAQU008 Instruct Water Familiarisation, Buoyancy and Mobility Skills
- SISCAQU009 Instruct Water Safety and Survival Skills
- SISCAQU010 Instruct Swimming Stroke
Optional:
- HLTAID009 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Minimum age: 16 years
Level of English: A reasonable level of English is required to be able to complete this course successfully
Candidates must have a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability to perform the required aquatic skills.
Must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or hold an appropriate visa allowing the candidate to undertake education.
Please note: Ampd Academy is not a CRICOS provider and cannot enrol students on an international student visa.
Training Packages are sometimes updated to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The Sport, Aquatics, and Recreation training package is delivered by several Registered Training Organizations (RTOs), including Ampd Academy.
The units of competency for the following courses have been superseded:

- Pool Lifeguard

To ensure this, all students enrolled in the above Ampd Academy course prior to 15/12/2023 must successfully complete and submit all course requirements by: 08/12/2023
Please be aware that after the above dates, a Statement of Attainment for the superseded units of competency will no longer be issued, and previous work will be lost.
